Bad News Triggering Stress


Stress results not only because we are not personal problems or a deadline at work. Reading or watching negative news in the media can also cause stress.

The study involved 60 people mentioned, the effect of negative news in the media more pronounced in women than in men.

In fact, the negative news has become "food" every day in our media. News on murder, theft, economic crises, conflicts and wars to win a greater share in the media of positive news.

"It was news in the media is not enough to increase the level of stress, but reading the news would make women more responsive and affect their psychological response to the next stressful situation," said Marie-France Marin of University of Montreal, who led the study.


Women were evaluated are naturally better able to recognize the threat to their children so that the effect on how they respond to stress. In addition, women are more reactive to stress than men.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to completely escape exposure to bad news. All we can do is probably try to dig the positive news that we read. Take time to relax, enjoy leisure activities preferred.
